I hate when my husband works for days on end. Not only do I miss him, which I'm used to and can deal with, but the kiddo grows increasingly difficult with each passing day. It's been a week since he's really had time off with us, and he's out of town this weekend so the kiddo's behavior is reaching a critical level. Some days are easy, I have lots of patience and understanding; other days are really terrible because I've got no patience for the whining and defiance.
She has started literally testing limits to see how far I'll let her go or how different her behavior can be before I say something. There's a lot of "like dis!" or "like dat!" as she's doing something incrementally to see where I'll step in. For instance, she saw me put my foot on the dining room table once so I could inspect a bug bite on my leg (I know, big mistake), so now she puts her foot on the table, looks at me and says, "like dis." I give her a look and shake my head so she moves her foot so just her toes are on the edge of the table and says, "like dis." I give her another look and shake my head so she moves her foot under the table but her toes are touching the underside of the table, and, predictably, says "like dis." I nod and say, "like that." This is just one example of this incremental game and it gets old.
I'm sure the fact that we're both bored and I spend my days on my computer don't help, but I'd rather escape into the online world of frugal living and coupon sites than be bored. Fall can't come soon enough, that's all I have to say.
